Allwyn Court Takes Tricolors at Zada Enterprises LLC Littlewood Spring Circuit
.

Wellington, FL – April 18, 2007 – This past weekend, Allwyn Court’s Katherine Newman earned another tricolor in the Large Junior 16-17 Junior Hunters at the Zada Enterprises LLC Littlewood Spring Circuit. Newman trains with her parents, Kathy and Gerry, at their Wellington-based farm. Sixteen-year-old Newman piloted Nairobi for Nora and Morgan Thomas and owner Kimberly Wang.

Nairobi was presented the reserve championship in the Large Juniors after he won a first, second, and two thirds over fences. He also pinned second under saddle. Newman only started riding Nairobi a few weeks ago, and since she took over the reins, she has been either champion or reserve every week. In addition to Nairobi, Newman competed in the jumper ring with her horse Costa Sur. The duo finished third on Friday in the High Junior Jumper class and placed sixth in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic on Sunday.

Along with her own horses, Newman frequently competes with catch-rides in the show ring. This year she has earned ribbons with Chop Chop and Alaska for Nora and Morgan Thomas, as well as Almelo, Forever Blue, and Daydream for owner Mimi Abel-Smith. She also received high ribbons during the Winter Equestrian Festival with Sarah Ward’s horse Onassis, and Agincourt, a horse owned by Dunwalke LLC.

Allwyn Court also took top honors in the Small Pony under saddle with Farnley Byron and rider Christina Firestone. The pair also won two blue ribbons and two thirds over fences. They received third in the model and finished with reserve championship honors. Firestone, who is the niece of grand prix show jumper Alison Firestone Robitaille, started in the Small Pony Hunters this year.

Tracy Topping, another student at Allwyn Court, continued her success in the Adult Amateur Hunters on Espoir du Feif III. Topping’s mount recently transitioned from the Adult Jumpers to the Adult Amateur Hunters, and the horse has won numerous ribbons since the switch.

Allwyn Court will continue to show at the Littlewood Horse Shows and plans to attend competitions in Kentucky, Spruce Meadows, Devon, Upperville, Lake Placid, Washington D.C., Harrisburg and Syracuse in 2007.
